Eleanor Waldron looking fab with the Irish peat bog look.
Below is the 2013 Longford Dance Festival image. We took a trip to the bog to transform it with dance, movement and presence, it transformed us with fun, openess and the pleasure of being with mud and sky.
Shawbrook is an amazing place. Run by Philiip and Anica for over 25 years, they have had some of irelands greatest dancer's, performers and choreographers pass through their dance school. It used to be a working farm, but slowly the cows moved out and the dancers moved in. Besides dance classes, workshops and research and rehearsal space, they also run Longfords yearly dance festival. I have enjoyed my involvement in this and many other projects over the years and indeed the friendship and relationship I have with the both of them.
Taken in the fabulous house of Klaus and Iris, the costumes are part of Anica's piece "Pearly B' which has been growing into a full piece which is already starting to tour, giving the talented girls their first experience of real touring, including running around gathering the funding they will need.
Below is from a flashmob Anica has organized in the middle of Longford town for the last 3 years, something every Irish town square could do with, and plenty of it!
